About The Project

This lovely client was a pleasure to work with and thought through all the aspects of the project ahead of time – we first met in October 2023 and the Job completed at the end of January 2024.

The project was in 2 phases – a separate builder was coming in to knock through a supporting wall to open the kitchen and dining room space.

After an initial survey, the design was tweaked slightly, and we agreed on a rough start date dependant on the progress of the builder.

Luckily this builder was very well organised and managed to get the space ready for early January.

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress

This was a fairly straightforward installation, as is mostly the case with extensions, and there was good communication between the customer, myself and the builders subcontractors to make sure services were in the right location – this is a vital but sometimes overlooked part of the process which can cause delays or mistakes.

We started like we always do and ran floor protection through the customers property. Then that afternoon the kitchen was delivered and we began constructing and installing the units.

There were one or two tricky details like a false door to bridge a pillar at the end of the sink run, and a setback infill at the opposite end of the same run, but all in all everything went without incident.

The customer had chosen some beautiful corian worktops, which were templated and installed in around 3 weeks – this is a consideration when having solid surface, that there may be an extended period of time before the kitchen is complete due to templating and fabricating the quartz/corian etc. We always try to minimise this by getting your base units run first and booking the templating immediately after.

We then made a return visit to fit the taps and hob and handed over the kitchen to our client!

The Results

The results are brilliant. I think the understated but modern look of the bright matte white doors with clean lines and no handles worked amazingly well in the space, and the satin feel on the corian worktops added to the overall soft matte look of this still bold looking kitchen.

I have just finished a total refit of my kitchen and was so pleased I had asked Freddy to do all the work. When we first met many months ago, I was very worried about getting everything in place to start the project, but luckily Freddy helped me every step of the way, from planning to the installation with his expert knowledge, understanding what I wanted and providing valuable help and suggestions. Every aspect of his work was done to an excellent standard with his attention to detail and pride in his work which makes my cabinets and worktops look stunning.

Freddy is also a friendly and approachable guy, who cleaned up at the end of every day, so to leave me a clean workspace, which helped make the whole process stress free.

If you’re looking for a skilled kitchen fitter who is reliable along with a craftsman, then I recommend him and “Living Installations Ltd”
